This is the 3rd painting I have done in the Angophora series, (previous 2 in private collection). These trees are so fascinating as they strip their old bark to reveal beautiful shapes and colours on their trunk in Springtime. I loved layering and manipulating the oil paint to represent these magnificent tree trunks and each tree has its own distinctive appearance. Mother Nature at her best. I am drawn to these earthy colours in our Australian bush.

Cut orange in Japanese bowl

I have this beautiful blue and white Japanese ceramic bowl that I have been wanting to paint. I have also been wanting to paint an orange. How perfect to paint them together as they are have a colour partnership crying out to be put together. Orange and blue - complimentary colours. Delicious! How could an orange be called anything else but an orange. On stretched linen.

This interior is in a quiet corner in a typical 18th century home in the French countryside. It is in a quaint village in the wine region of Chablis. The room, was furnished from a bygone era reflecting French provincial life. I felt at peace here and wanted to replicate that feeling in my painting. The villagers were outside gathering for the annual Fete de Pomme in the square. A community sharing their local produce and having a wonderful time. I love how a painting can evoke a memory for one person and give visual pleasure to another. It is framed in a natural coloured box frame
