Into the Woods
- 53 x 53 cm

Trees feature again in this framed landscape, as I am so drawn to them. Because I like to feature small section of a scene I have zoomed in to this group of trees on a walk to a loch in Scotland. The tree roots dig deep into the earth and create this sculptural effect that also gives an eerie feeling while walking along the pathway to the loch itself. Quiet as a pin dropping, no-one else around.

Here's a collection of bits and pieces I have collected over time. I chose these as subjects for this still life because they are curiously interesting and I love their rustic tones. Here I have included decaying leaves which I am drawn to, and wanted to incorporate them in this work. Beautifully framed in raw Australian blackwood, this painting would hang well in an entranceway or corner nook, office space or anywhere really. Although the background is light in colour there is warmth in its hues and would give a cosy space some ambience.

Here at the end of the stream

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang. Signed on the front. This artwork comes with an external frame This was an “ aww” moment at the end of a walk along a stream in Brecon, Wales. The air was fresh, there was only the sound of running water and the bleating sheep in the background. The weather was threatening but there was peace here. A few moments of calm and gorgeousness. The colours are intense and warm and bounce against the darker stormy sky. I have used an illustrative sketch line to emphasise this. Try hanging it in an entranceway, sunroom, or cosy space. It is framed in a Blackwood box frame.
