Here's a collection of bits and pieces I have collected over time. I chose these as subjects for this still life because they are curiously interesting and I love their rustic tones. Here I have included decaying leaves which I am drawn to, and wanted to incorporate them in this work. Beautifully framed in raw Australian blackwood, this painting would hang well in an entranceway or corner nook, office space or anywhere really. Although the background is light in colour there is warmth in its hues and would give a cosy space some ambience.

Early Morning Queenscliff headland

It was a crisp Autumn morning and the surf pounding this headland of the Sydney coastline. The soft colours in the sky as the sun continued to rise brought a vibrancy to the reflections on the water and this was the inspiration behind this piece. This painting is mostly about colour and light but I have used a palette knife to apply the paint to add texture and atmosphere.

Two pears. When I see something so simple, but with such beauty in shape and colour, I am so drawn to paint it. I have so much joy blending colours on my palette and filling my brush with the mixture, marking the canvas with different brush strokes and see what appears. I want to eat this pair of pears. Delicious and sweet.
