These were the only fresh ingredients left in my fridge during a recent Covid isolation. I was looking for ideas to paint something and I thought how great the colours of these vegetables looked together, so here they are, captured here to remind me of the Summer of 2022 and catching Covid, in isolation for a week or so. They made for a delicious meal too!

Le Canard Sur l'Etang

Le Canard sur L’étang is French for The Duck on the Pond. This little bird was swimming on the pond in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris where I visited last year. The gardens are the place where Parisian families come to relax and enjoy their beautiful city. The pond is a draw card for visitors to sail model sailboats amongst the ducks and other bird life. This pretty duck caught my eye with its teal feathers and yellow bill. It was one of my favourite places in Paris and so I wanted to capture this in a zoomed in version of the duck on the pond. This is a small but bright oil painting that would lift a room with its colour.

This artwork comes with an external frame This is a rock face at the end of a treacherous piece of coastline near Seal Rocks, NSW. The rock formations have made their own artwork from natures aggression over the millenia of time. Such beauty in texture, colour and shape. So, here I have painted it because I love it!
