In a moment the light will have changed and we will see things differently - marbles

One of the reasons I paint is to capture a moment in time. These marbles are amazing little orbs of glass allowing light to refract colours through them. It takes only a moment to capture this beautiful play of light and then, a few minutes later we see something else. This is science meeting art. Also, of course a fun playground game from times gone by - marbles. The painting is framed in a Tasmanian Oak frame, with both a string hanger and D-rings with wire attached.

Here we look up through the canopy of trees to the sky beyond. Although there are still the obstacles of branches and leaves, we can see glimpses of the clearing blue sky, and perhaps a hope for better times ahead.

This grand old Moreton Bay fig tree stands proudly on Observatory Hill in Sydney. It has probably been standing there since the early establishment of the town. A beautiful golden light shone through the tree, focusing on the splendour of the tree and our beautiful harbour in the background. There is serenity here even though it’s sits right on the edge of our major city.
