Over the last few years, I have returned to oil painting and found that I am most drawn to organic material. It is the shapes, colours and textures found in nature that continue to inspire me. There is something appealing about the rawness of natural materials — imperfect, uncontrived and real. "Leave No Stone Unturned" explores the earthy colours and varied forms found in stones and rocks. Each stone has its own shape, markings and character, creating an almost abstract collection of forms. Look closely at the bottom right and you may notice one of nature's little surprises — a small crab emerging from the cracks in the stones, seemingly pausing to take note of its surroundings. *Sides of canvas are painted in Golden ochre.
