This is a rock face at the end of a treacherous piece of coastline near Seal Rocks, NSW. The rock formations have made their own artwork from natures aggression over the millenia of time. Such beauty in texture, colour and shape. So, here I have painted it because I love it!

Walking on the rocks at a beach at low tide is so interesting. Rocks that are usually submerged under the water appear making a miniature archipelago, some covered with seaweed and moss, others with remants of oyester shell. Sometimes there is a little pool of water that remains on the rock and forms a rockpool where interesting marine life can be found. I have always lived on the coast and find this seaside environment so beautiful. Worth painting for sure.

As the sun vanishes into storm clouds, a brief, breathtaking light appears and it’s that little thing, that small moment that brings profound gratitude. This is a small artwork with an awe inspiring subject to make you want to stop and look. I am hoping it draws you in to the light behind the clouds and takes you to a happy place. It would feature well with a row or line of other similar sized paintings, or at an end of a hallway or corridor.
