Tree in a Park

This painting is part of my "For the Love of Trees" series. Trees are steadfast and strong and beautiful. As an artist I am always looking for the perfect tree to paint, one with gnarly branches that reach high into the sky. Here in Australia, it is usally a gum tree that inspires all that. Here is another one, giving an upward perspective.

The ocean is unpredictable. One can wile the hours away watching the calmness of the water or the ferocity of it. Mother Nature in control. Here we have a rogue wave close to shore, picking up its sandy floor and throwing it all back down again. A dumper, captured at the moment in this painting, before it does its damage - then calm seas behind again. Love our coastline!
