We live in complicated times. It is hard to keep up with the ever changing way of life and the accepting of the "new normal". There is more tension and anxiety among many of us. Sometimes we need to take a step back from the frenetic pace of living and look for an awe moment. Here, you can, with my painting. Looking up toward the sky throught the trees takes us away from the everyday, enables us to take a deep breath and forget the troubles of the world.

There is a time of the day and year, when the sun sits in the right place, to give a golden glow and gives a warmth and depth of colour to the things it shines on. The colours in nature at this moment are almost unreal, abstract, and play tricks on the mind but brings a feeling of joy and wonder, about how nature does what it does. This is how I felt when seeing this tree while on a walk in Autumn.

Oil on linen, framed in Tasmanian oak, ready to hang. I found this old set of scales in a bric a brac market sometime ago. Brought back memories of childhood. I just loved the patina on them, the beurre bosc pears looked great sitting on the weighing dish set the still life off. Love the earthy hues of this winter fruit.
