The Mandarin
- 25.5 x 25.5 cm
A$270
Here I have painted a partly peeled mandarin. The beautiful sweet scent diffuses through the air and evokes deliciousness, as does its orange colour. These are the things that inspire me to paint everyday things and I’m really enjoying painting minimalist still life on wood panel at the moment.

There is nothing like a threatening stormy sky to capture the eye of an artist. This one certainly got me enthralled, so I painted it. Along with the wide open space of this beautiful countryside, the colour contrasts of this sky needed to be represented on canvas for perpetuity. This is such a picturesque part of mid- west NSW, still a little dry at the time from drought but I’m sure it looks lush now. I have painted it in panoramic form to bring the eye across the horizon.

Cat with Ball of wool

A sitting cat’s profile is a perfect thing. There is some elegance about them sitting like this. Here the cat is ignoring the bright red ball of wool, showing disinterest. In fact he really wants to pounce on it and play. A cat thing! A fun painting almost illustrative. I’m loving this blue green background at the moment.
